Fiola

Fiola, Washington DC (Italian)

Chef: Fabio Trabocchi

Born in the Region of Acana, Italy, Chef Fabio Trabocchi discovered his passion for cooking at a very young age. He pursued his culinary education in Italy, the United Kingdom, and Washington DC. After meeting his wife, Maria in the early ’90s, they formed Trabocchi Restaurants in 2011, touting five restaurants to their name, and are known as the most influential people in the DC culinary scene. Driven by the desire for perfection, and respect for culture and tradition, Chef Trabocchi seeks to create an environment that he enjoys and hopes that his guests too will find it to be a lovely experience.

Opened in 2011 as Trabocchi’s flagship restaurant, Fiola has evolved over time to become a Michelin Starred, fine Italian dining experience in Washington DC. Located in a prime location on Pennsylvania Avenue near the Archives, Fiola is frequented by politicians and is widely recognized within the DC food scene. Fiola continues to focus on creating traditional Italian dishes, served with modern flair. Though the setting is formal, Fiola offers guests flexibility when selecting their dishes. Diners can elect to partake in a three-course prix fixe menu, or for those looking for more variety, a four-course prix fixe menu. With both options, guests can expect to be delighted with amuse bouche treats courtesy of the Chef. One can expect to begin their meal with a single stalk of white asparagus decorated with caviar and edible flowers before continuing with options such as lobster bisque, piping hot, and served with large pieces of lobster within. One can select from multiple pasta options such as the decadent lobster ravioli or Pappardelle; when selecting your courses, bear in mind that that pasta portions are large and will leave you full! From here you can select from the land & sea with options like Danish Dover Sole and Venison Loin. Don’t forget to end your evening with dessert, of which the Hazelnut Banana will leave you wanting to return again and again. Guests may also choose to indulge in an extensive wine list and menu of hand-crafted cocktails featuring classics such as the Manhattan, and originals like the Beyond Love, a vodka-based cocktail with sage, cranberry, and currant flavors. No matter which menu options you choose, expect to be pampered with superb service, and leave Fiola feeling full and looking forward to your next visit.
