Chef Tre Foshee grew up in both Hawaii and California. He always knew that cooking was going to be a part of his life. He was naturally drawn to the culinary arts and excelled at it. Chef Foshee worked in numerous restaurants throughout Hawaii and California. He then settled on the Executive Chef and Partner position at George’s in 1999. His goal at George’s is to get as much flavor as he can out of the local ingredients he uses. He ensures that all ingredients are as local and freshly grown as possible.
Located on a third-floor terrace overlooking the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla, California, The Ocean Terrace at George’s is the go-to spot for La Jolla locals. It offers a fresh, delicious meal coupled with gorgeous sunset views of the ocean. The menu at the Terrace features enough choices to satisfy any palate. It carries options ranging from starters, salads, pasta, mains, and desserts. You can begin with a simple appetizer of chips and guacamole. It goes well paired with one of the restaurant’s cocktails sets your meal in a great direction.
For your main course, the grilled salmon on a bed of tomatoes, garlic, jalapenos, and olives is an excellent choice. The salmon is cooked to perfection and paired with the freshest vegetables. The braised lamb shank with white root puree and rosemary jus is also a great choice for those guests who prefer something other than seafood. For dessert, you can choose to indulge in a cup of coffee and the sticky toffee pudding served with toffee sauce, sliced almonds, and vanilla ice cream. Relax and enjoy your dessert as you overlook the breathtaking view of Lo Jolla Cove. If you are fortunate enough to be seated at a table along with the edge glass of the Terrace, the view is spectacular.
As with all restaurants, the Ocean Terrace was closed temporarily when staying in place orders were issued throughout the state of California due to the COVID pandemic. The Terrace has since reopened with additional safety protocols put in place to keep staff and guests safe notably the installation of plexiglass dividers in between each table that ensure safety but do not compromise the view. Takeout is also available to order online daily.

Chef Tony is a 42-year veteran of the food industry and is often known by his peers as “The New Product Guru.” Throughout his illustrious culinary career, he’s earned several notable titles and positions including Acquisition International’s “Most Influential Product Development Expert, U.S.” in 2019.
In 1997, Tony also founded Culinary Systems Inc., a group of culinary consultants that assist with culinary training, restaurant start-ups, concept development, and more. Since then, Tony and his team have generated over two billion dollars in sales for their clients in restaurants, retail, and manufacturing.
