Chef Barbara Lynch believes that every empty plate is waiting for a story and it is her job to create a great meal coupled with lively hospitality and outstanding drink. The winner of three James Beard Awards for her various restaurants in 2003, 2012, and 2013, Barbara Lynch is regarded as one of the World’s leading Chefs. Beginning her culinary career in her early teens, Lynch spent time in Italy learning classic Italian cuisine, before returning to Boston to work in multiple leading kitchens before opening her own restaurants. In 2017, Chef Lynch was listed as one of the Time 100, Time Magazine’s list of the most influential people, and is the only female in the United States to have earned the title of Grand Chef Relais & Chateaux.
Opened in 2010, Menton is Chef Barbara Lynch’s interpretation of what modern fine dining should look like. Menton’s location in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood, which features a mix of historical brick buildings and modern/futuristic designs, is the perfect location. Barbara Lynch partnered with interior designers, Cheryl and Jeffrey Katz to design a space that incorporates luxury and modern comfort. For dinner, guests choose from the A La Carte Menu which features surprising takes on classic dishes such as PB & J consisting of brioche brown butter mousse, peanut brittle, maple sabayon, and concord grape sorbet. Other options include Gnocchi with cauliflower, pecorino fondue, and black truffle, and Seared Foie Gras with Red Wine Apple Butter. For those wishing a different experience, indulge in the Eight Course Chef’s Whim Menu. Beginning with fresh Tuna Crudo, and continuing with delicious dishes such as, Roasted Delicata Squash with Farro, Foie Gras Custard, Wagyu Beef Cheek, and ending with Goats Milk Tres Leches with Cranberries for dessert. A wine pairing may be added to the Chef’s Whim Menu, or guests can select from a menu of hand-crafted cocktails such as the Martini of Menton.
